How do I take and share photos and videos using the camera on Facebook?

 
To use the camera, log into the Facebook app for iOS or Android.
How do I use the camera?
To take a photo or video:
  1. Tap or swipe right from News Feed to open the camera.
  2. Tap at the bottom of the screen to take a photo, or tap and hold to record a video. You can also:
    • Tap Text to share a text post with a colored background.
    • Tap Live to start a Live video.
    • Tap or swipe up to take a photo or video with face filters or other camera effects.
    • Tap to upload a photo from your camera roll.
  3. Tap Aa to add text, to add a sticker, or to draw on your photo or video. Tap Effects to add other creative effects.
  4. Tap Save to save your photo or video to your camera roll.
  5. Tap to choose who you want to share with.
  6. Tap to share as a post, to your story or to send to friends directly.
  7. Tap to share.
When I share my photo or video, where does it go?
When you share a photo or video:
  • If you choose Post, your photo or video will be shared as a post to your selected audience on Facebook. You can choose this audience using the audience selector.
  • If you choose Your Story, your photo or video will be added to your story on Facebook and the Messenger app. Your story will be available for 24 hours. Learn more about adding to your story.
  • If you send a photo or video directly to a friend, they'll be able to see it and reply to it in the Messenger app.
